The Bullard Farm Caretakers

Meet the BMFA caretakers, Matt and Ruth.  

Matt Gustafson and Ruth Potter were caretakers for 4 years at the Daniel Webster Mass Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary in Marshfield. Matt also worked on the property team in the southeast region of Mass Audubon while Ruth served in an administrative role. Both Ruth and Matt have lawn and trail maintenance experience and will be sharing the caretaker duties at the farm. 

Before joining the property team and working full time for Mass Audubon, Matt worked as a high school science teacher for a charter school in Plymouth. Ruth worked in a public library in Scituate. They are excited to spend more time working together outdoors in their new roles as caretakers on the farm. Ruth was raised in Minnesota by two avid gardeners and both Ruth and Matt look forward to having more time to focus on tending a garden. They also enjoy cooking, reading, building furniture for their cat, Laurence, taking walks, biking, playing video games, and exploring their local libraries.
